Yoga at SWEAT Southsea
More than just a series of postures, this 2000-year-old practice combines breathing, movements and mediation (just to start) to raise our awareness of our behaviour and increase our wellbeing.
The health benefits of yoga are endless. And the best part? Absolutely everyone can enjoy yoga.
Traditionally starting with a few moments to focus on yourself, a Yoga class or session will provide an opportunity to really listen to what your body is telling you.
With a series of asanas or postures the body is challenged in strength, flexibility and endurance. We feel this is a great metaphor for life!
Who doesn’t need to maintain a good posture during difficult times for sustained periods? At your desk or during that marathon training?
Using clinical knowledge, expert training and with a sense of fun – Sam can design a programme specifically for you. This personal practice could complement your morning coffee to wake up your body and prepare it for the challenges of the day. The wonderful combination of breathing through the movements helps create more relaxed breathing patterns to assist with relaxation, dysfunctional breathing and to lower stress. This also has huge implications for better sleep!
Yoga is a challenge that you can set yourself and can be ramped up to any level to really push your physical boundaries and challenge barriers we place in our mind.
We believe that yoga should promote smiles, so expect to grin through your challenges with a light-hearted approach.
1-1 Yoga is available at SWEAT Southsea's on Tuesday's and are £35.
